17th Century Smithy
Here at our 17th Century Smithy in Tibshelf, Derbyshire, we use traditional methods of ironwork manufacturing and restoration. All of our products and components are
handmade
at our smithy using coke fired forges and hand tools. We work using both wrought iron and mild steel depending on the client’s specification. Most forms of welding are also carried out at our works.
Repairing Existing Items
We also carry out a wide range of cast iron repairs
on windows, columns, fire places etc by method of cold metal stitching, splicing or welding. We can match or repair existing items and produce replacements whatever the age or condition. Clients can either supply their own drawings or we can design to specifications supplied.
Stately Homes
that we have worked on include Chatsworth House, Belton House, Hardwick Hall, Belvoir Castle, Ilam Hall, Stanton Hall
plus many more.
Our Past & Present Work
We have also carried out work for The National Portrait Gallery, Lichfield, Coventry, and Derby Cathedrals
and many churches in the area. Extensive work including cast iron and wrought iron
repairs
has also been carried out at Stainsby Water Mill
for the National Trust at Hardwick.
Client visits to view work in progress on any project is always welcome. We love to have a chat with our clients and get their feedback. Please visit our Projects page or our Facebook page for more details about our Blacksmithing work.
